The area's many attractions take on a charm of their own when the temperatures plummet and the snow falls. The relaxed atmosphere and cozy lodging alternatives beg for an afternoon snooze, a good book in front of the fire or a quiet walk through the woods or on the frozen beaches. And the evenings bring much camaraderie midst the glowing lights of a favorite restaurant. There's a saying heard often in Harbor Country during the winter: "Our snow stays white." That's when hang-gliding and swimming give way to tobogganing, sledding, cross-country skiing and snow tubing at WarrenDunes State Park. Many of the county parks nature trails are groomed for cross-country skiing ).
